Bridging THE GAP (governance and finance)
Bridging the Gap was a collaboration between Mazars and the Cass Business School Centre for Charity Effectiveness to encourage workers in the private sector to join charities and social enterprises and to foster the role of chairs. Paul wrote the chapter on governance. The document can be downloaded here.
THE BOARD CHARTER FOR CHARITIES FOCUSED ON IMPACT (GOVERNANCE AND FINANCE)
Mazars was a sponsor of the Rt. Hon. Fiona Woolf’s Charity Leadership Programme during her year as The Lord Mayor of London 2013/14. Her theme was ‘The Energy to Transform Lives’. As part of her Programme, Paul wrote the Board Charter for Charities focused on Impact.

Paul responded to a number of consultations on behalf of Mazars, including consultations by the Charity Commission and HM Treasury.
cc3 (GOVERNANCE AND FINANCE)
Paul responded to the Charity Commission’s consultation on its core publication CC3, The Essential Trustee. He responded to the Commission and the Financial Reporting Council on Financial Reporting Standard FRS 102 and the Statements of Recommended Practice – Accounting and Reporting by Charities, published in 2015 and 2016 as the framework of charity accounting and financial reporting.
He also responded to HM Treasury’s consultation on Social Investment Tax Relief. This new tax relief was introduced in 2015 to encourage individuals to support social enterprises and help these organisations to access new sources of finance.

As National Charity Specialist at Mazars LLP, Paul wrote flyers and blogs to keep clients and staff up to date on topical issues for charities and social enterprises.
TOLLEY'S CHARITies MANUAL (TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT)
Paul is a member of the Editorial Committee of Tolley’s Charity Manual, published by LexisNexis. He writes and updates the chapters on charity accounting, auditing and financial reporting, governance, impact and social enterprise.
SEMINARS (training and development)
Paul leads on the Mazars charity seminars for clients, some six seminars across England and Scotland which are delivered twice a year to keep clients and contacts up to date on current and emerging technical matters.
CHURCH OF ENGLAND (TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT)
Paul has just stepped down after fifteen years as a member of the Church of England’s Diocesan and Parish Financial Committee on accounting and financial reporting. The Committee helps the dioceses and parishes of the Church of England to keep up to date on their accounting and financial reporting responsibilities by publishing online guides and updating these regularly.
